Brief Description: Instructor Development

Full Description: This class is required for officers who want to instruct POST sponsored classes as well as attending any of the firearms based instructor courses. The Instructor Development course will provide the peace officer instructor with a working knowledge of how to develop performance objectives, lesson plans, utilizing proper teaching methods, etc.

Officers who successfully complete the Instructor Development course will be recognized as POST certified instructors.

A written and skills based test will be administered where the officer needs to achieve 70% or greater to pass.

Reporting Instructions: Dress code for attending POST classes is a neat, clean, and professional appearance. Slacks, shirts with collars, and/or department uniform can be worn. No shorts, cut-offs, open toe shoes, sweats, tank tops, or t-shirts are permitted.
